A story that began in 2006 and continues with the same warmth: our house has, over the years, become a place to stay for guests from every corner of the world.
We're the Luca family, hosts since 2006
For over two decades, we've been welcoming guests into our home in the heart of Sibiel village. What began as a simple room for hikers grew, over time, into a six-room guesthouse - but the spirit stayed the same: we receive guests like friends, not booking numbers.
Our house spans two floors, ground floor and attic level, and we've shaped it to offer the comfort of a real home: a shady courtyard, a gazebo for summer evenings, a dining room where we serve traditional dishes, and the quiet of a mountain village where the only sound, most days, is the bell of the nearby church.
The house-museum in our courtyard
Right in the courtyard sits something we're especially proud of: a peasant house, over 200 years old, which we've kept as it was once lived in across Mărginimea Sibiului. Our guests are welcome to visit it - a small, living ethnographic museum just steps from where they sleep, one that tells the story of our village better than any information panel could.
Elena's cooking
At the table, we cook and serve traditional, natural dishes, right in the household. For many guests, this is what stays with them the longest - not just the room they slept in, but Elena's cooking, made with local ingredients and recipes passed down in the family.
A trusted host, proven over time
We've been hosts without interruption since 2006 - a continuity that matters when choosing where to stay with a private host. Our guesthouse holds a 3-daisy classification, and booking is done directly, by phone or WhatsApp, with no middlemen and no hidden commissions. Pets are welcome, because we know that for many of our guests, they're part of the family.

From time to time, we also host small parties and traditional evenings in the courtyard, with music, folk dancing and festive costumes - one of the charms of this place that we love sharing with our guests. You can see a few photos in the gallery.

We're Ioan and Elena Luca, the hosts of Pensiunea Luca Ioan in Sibiel village. We've welcomed every guest personally since 2006, and Elena cooks the traditional dishes served at the table, using recipes passed down in the family.
